Many people come to physical therapy to learn proper form for preventing exercise-related injuries. As physical therapists, however, we often see patients struggle just as much with body awareness during everyday household tasks. Repetitive stress from poor movement patterns at home can contribute to ongoing spine and joint pain and may even delay recovery.
The goal of these videos is to highlight common mistakes people make while doing chores, demonstrate how those habits place unnecessary stress on the body, and show proper body alignment to support recovery and reduce strain.
We continue to strongly advocate for one-on-one physical therapy for anyone dealing with pain or recovering from injury. Individualized guidance ensures the right muscles engage properly with the appropriate force, based on each person’s condition and stage of healing.
